Just for conversation sake, I also have a couple tablets here (one of them being another 10" Fire) that show my security cams full time.The e-ink display, network connectivity, and low-power consumption of Kindle ebook readers make them a perfect candidate for an infrequently refreshed high-visibility display–like a weather display.
It just looks a little cleaner this way, and since these tablets are dedicated to my weather stuff, might as well make it look nicer. It's a little wonky to use (and can mess a little with certain apps), but it is a way to hide the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Just to make it a little more eye appealing for the kitchen tablet, I installed an app called fulscrn. I like to know the basic weather conditions before my feet hit the floor in the morning, so it's really easy to read. On the bedroom tablet, I don't need all the info that is displayed on MyAcurite, so I have the screen enlarged to only show the temp, wind, and rainfall.and it is nice and large enlarged this way. I also have an 8" Fire in the bedroom with MyAcurite.įor the Fire tablets, I use the browser version, not the app. I have a 10" Fire tablet in the kitchen with MyAcurite being displayed. I use the MyAcurite app on my iPad mini 4 in my office.
